One of the top things to do in Victoria is a trip down the Great Ocean Road.

Spanning 243 kilometres, from Torquay to Warrnambool, It’s a breathtaking coastal road that cuts through sheer cliffs, winds along beaches and glides through rainforests.

With many look out points to stop off at along the way there are photo opportunities galore! Don’t be put off at the thought of a four-hour car journey. Surely after half an hour the scenery will get boring? That’s where you’re wrong it doesn’t and there are many places to stop along the way.

The road goes through some beautiful quaint seaside towns, whether you are stopping for a coffee, spending the night or browsing the local shops there’s plenty to see and do.

The road covers many national parks so get out of the car and explore the acres of rainforest breathtaking waterfalls and coastal walks. You can even visit the famous lighthouse from Round the twist in the small town of Aireys Inlet.

Wildlife spotting is a great activity to do along the road, look up in to those trees for koalas, in the national parks for kangaroos and emus. If you're there in the winter, whales can be spotted offshore.

The highlight for me was the Twelve Apostles, magnificent rock formations that stand dramatically off the coastline, my top tip would be to arrive for sunset.

With day tours starting from $90, you can visit this natural beauty - even on a backpacker’s budget!

My advice to you is not to leave Victoria without a trip down this breathtaking road
