The Great Ocean Road is one of Australia's iconic journeys but make sure you don't miss out on the amazing wildlife and attractions that many people drive past. Here are my top 5 "must see" recommendations:

    1. Paddle with the Platypus. Run by Bruce Jackson and his company, Otway Eco Tours, this day day allows you to get up close to these amazing creatures and is a rare chance to see Platypus in the wild.
    2. Cape Otway Conservation Ecology Centre & Great Ocean Ecolodge. This is an amazing place within the grounds of the Conservation Ecology Centre where they rehabilitate animals from Kangaroos to Koalas. Check out their details here
    3. Learn to surf in the home of the pros. Torquay is home to many of world's most famous surf companies, including Rip Curl, Piping Hot and Quiksilver. Famous surf beach like Bells Beach have made this area famous around the world as a surfing mecca. Make an enquiry to to our friends who run this Torquay surf school and learn to surf like a pro!
    4. Visit the Twelve Apostles. If you've only got one day to see the Great Ocean Road from Melbourne then you've got to visit the Twelve Apostles. This day tour of the Great Ocean Road take you to this iconic landlamark and allows you to experience the breathtaking journey on the way.
    5. Walk the coastline. The coastline that runs below the Great Ocean Road is incredible. Following the cost from Apollo Bay to the magnificent 12 Apostles the Great Ocean Walk is an inspiring journey that is best undertaken with a local walking operator such as Bothfeet Walking Tours.
That's just a taste of things to do around the Great Ocean Road. One thing's for sure and that's that it's easy to create your own adventure that you'll never forget.
