Over mostly every weekend, there are many attractions to peak visitors’ interest at Federation Square. A hotspot for meeting up with fellow friends for a drink for cafes, Federation Square is the home of the Australian Centre of the Moving Image, the Melbourne Visitor Centre and hosts a big screen to attract huge crowds to watch major sports events live. Inside the precinct contains Deakin Edge, a hall that contains a small concert hall and a small range of cafes, restaurants, and makeshift book markets where you can purchase assorted books for $5.00.

Recently, the Melbourne’s Ukrainian-Australian community celebrated its heritage anticipation for the country’s 23rd anniversary as an independent nation inside Deakin Edge. As yet another example of diverse backgrounds that populate Melbourne, this festival hosted a day where fellow Ukrainian Australians come together for cultural activities and a pageant of performers celebrating Ukrainian folk music.
