    Australia - When to go

So you know where you want to go for your next holiday, expedition or adventure.  Your mind is set and your dream destination is fixed firmly in your sights!
But what is the next question you ask yourself before the all important travel booking process commences?

When is the best time of year for me to visit?

The truth is, with Australia being the world's largest island; you can be safe in knowing that no matter what time of year you intend on visiting, there will always be somewhere to bask in the glorious sunshine, set out to sea, catch a wave or two and get the most from your experience.

One thing to note is that the seasons in Australia are the opposite to Europe and North America so if you're planning on escaping a blisteringly cold December in New York or London, dig out your sunglasses and beach towels for a second summer down under.
Something worth remembering before you head out for summer in the south, the locals are out in full force to enjoy their own favourite season of sunshine so beware of busy periods like school holidays in January.

If you are prepared for some high season price increases, disappointment can be avoided and a great time guaranteed.

The heaviest rainfall of the wet season can be expected from January through to March so make sure you include some indoor culture activities during this time, a great way to escape the high humidity, keep dry and learn a thing or two about this amazing country!

Head to North Queensland for some winter sun (June-September), the call of the coast, swaying palm trees and calm seas are all waiting for you in this inviting tropical paradise.
If your ideal winter involves snow-capped mountains and skiing, head to NSW during this time for an Aussie action packed winter sports season.

    Top Tips to remember:

For sun worshippers Queensland is a great destination all year round.
Heavy rainfall in the wet season (Sept-March) means preparation to avoid disappointment.
South Australia's inland region can sometimes reach unbearably high tempartures during the summer season so stay hydrated and wear high factor sun-block.
For snow fans, NSW (June-September) is your go-to destination!
