Hed Kandi NYE Carnivale (General Admission: $199)

This rooftop bar is normally filled with suits and frocks and makes a fitting venue for a classy New Year's affair. This bar looks over a pool and works as the perfect backdrop for a little bit of escapism. Last year the theme was Miami-glam, and this year we head to Rio for a Carnivale. There will be live performers and plenty of costume and colour. The colour will extend to the sky, where you'll be able to sight the fireworks set up across the river.

If you usually struggle to make it to midnight (for any number of reasons) you can catch the fireworks at 8.30pm. It's also worth noting that Riverlife host a range of adventure activities on the Brisbane river and at Kangaroo Point Cliffs all year round - so keep these guys as a contact when in Brisbane.
