For the first time ever, Brisbanites gathering in King George Square will be able to feast their eyes on a light show like no other, on the facade of City Hall. Brought to us by Sydney company The Electric Canvas, the first show of its kind in Brisbane is featuring the story of the Nutcracker doll.

Home to the Brisbane City Christmas Tree, the light show adds a much needed boost to the Christmas activity of our city.

King George Square recently transitioned to a concrete playground, fitting for day markets, a speigeltent (we were visited by Spiegelworld's show Empire this year) and more. Plus, just this year City Hall (officially opening in 1930) was refurbished, bringing to life its intricate ornate period features. Now, City Hall's crowning glory would have to be the auditorium's mesmerising LED lighting system.

Visit City Hall for an appreciation of Brisbane's short history, where you will also gain a sense of the city's readiness to embrace innovation and creativity.

The Gold Lotto City Hall Light Spectacular '13 will run from the 13th of December through to Christmas Eve, with the show running every 15 minutes from 7.30pm until midnight.
