After completing our final exams for the semester and making it through our first year of university, my friends and I decided to celebrate in style with what we love best, food.

Departing from our usual mission to find cheap food places (as we are all typical university students stretching our money as far as it will go), we decided to splurge with a spot of high tea at the Tea Salon.

Despite being in the middle of the Westfield shopping centre, the Tea Salon was presented as an oasis in the desert of shops. Decorated with an abundance of floral teacups and saucers, the place seemed fit for royalty.

Although we had to wait a while to be seated, dining with the tower of classic high tea (filled with an assortment of foods) proved to be well worth the wait. The service was lovely and the relaxed atmosphere proved to be exactly what we needed after a stressful exam period.

The food was delicate and tantalised our tastebuds from the cranberry and white chocolate scones served with cream and jam to the cucumber, crème faiche and dill ribbon sandwiches. The tea was perfectly brewed and left us snug and warm on the rainy day.

If you ever need to escape a rainy day or the stresses of life, or even if you’re feeling a little bit fancy, be sure to allow yourself to indulge at the Victoria Room Tea Salon, Level 4 (Designer Gallery) Westfield Sydney, Pitt Street.
