Sail the 74 Whitsunday Islands


Day One

Pick up a ‘bareboat’ and do a 4 hour sailing induction with a qualified skipper before setting sail on your adventure

Find a protected bay (perhaps Nara Inlet, Hook Island) to anchor for the afternoon

Watch the sunset, then eat dinner under a million stars and spend the night onboard


Day Two

Wake up in paradise!

Sail to spectacular fringing coral reefs for snorkelling on Hayman and Hook Island, then lunch on a deserted sand cay

Day Three

WhitsundaysSail south to world famous Whitehaven Beach, where you might jump on land and do a bushwalk to

Day OneWhitsundays itineraries

Even before you’ve stepped off the plane, the scenery from above is amazing. You can fly direct into Hamilton Island, or to the Whitsunday Coast, and within minutes of landing, board your first scenic

cruise through the Whitsunday islands to your island resort.

Cocktail in hand, lap up the luxury of the resort pool and take in your new surroundings for the afternoon. Dine on delectable local produce and rest your weary head for the night.


Day Two

Sleep in on your comfy bed, or soak up the morning sunshine from your balcony with views over the water and surrounding Whitsunday islands

If you can muster up the strength, walk down to the pool with a good book, or reward your tired body with a massage in the day spa, by the pool, or even in the ocean.

Day Three

The Whitsundays is best seen from above, so take a scenic seaplane or helicopter flight over the

Great Barrier Reef and land on Whitehaven Beach for a picnic.

Day FourWhitsundays itineraries

Cruise through the islands to your next island resort, where of course you’ll need to check out the new pool.

If you’re feeling active, take part in some watersports, kayaking, or snorkel straight off the beach on fringing coral reef.

Enjoy entertainment in the resort bar for the night.


Day Five

Go for an adventurous sightseeing cruise, play a round of (mini or proper) golf, take a jetski for a spin or go sailing for the day.

Arrive and check in, let the kids jump in the pool and explore all the facilities your resort has to offer

Wander into Airlie Beach and visit the Lagoon, with a family BBQ dinner overlooking the Coral Sea and Whitsunday Islands and get them to bed early for a big day tomorrow!

Day Two


Today the kids are going to find Nemo! Cruise out to the Great Barrier Reef and go snorkelling, water sliding and exploring the reef. Mum might want to have a massage on the reef pontoon and Dad might want to try Scuba Diving. After a big day, cook up dinner in your self-contained apartment before resting your weary heads.


Day Three


Enjoy the day chillaxing in Airlie Beach – go to the lagoon for a swim, maybe a hire car or mini-moke

and go for a drive to secluded beaches, waterfalls or take a bush walk, wander through the shops or

build sandcastles.


Day Fourwhitsundays


Visit two islands in one day! Spend the morning at an island resort discovering what’s on offer – a personalised ‘Living Reef’ experience, or watersports and snorkelling off the beach, bushwalks, whatever takes your fancy. Then after lunch, cruise to world famous Whitehaven Beach for an afternoon of beach games, swimming and sunbathing.

Return back to Airlie Beach and shout yourselves out for a nice dinner in the heart of Airlie Beach.


Day Five


Kids tired yet? If so, spend a day on the beach reading a book and if not, take them out on another adventure – sailing, visiting another island, or further exploring the Whitsunday Coast.


Day Six


Time to head home. You can fly direct from the Whitsunday Coast or take one last cruise through

the islands to Hamilton Island Airport.



Second time visitor


Day Onewhitsundays


Arrive in the Whitsundays and hire a car (or drive yourself here) and drive north to Bowen. Check in and lap up the peace and serenity, following by a walk along the beach at sunset.

Overnight in a self-contained apartment.


Day Two


Go for a scuba dive or snorkel straight off the beach on beautiful fringing coral reefs.

Spend the afternoon on the beach, or on your balcony with a book.

Shout yourself a night out to dinner at a friendly and welcoming local pub followed by a movie at the

local cinema.


Day Three


Spend the morning following Bowen’s mural trail, and follow it out west to Collinsville. Wander

through the interesting Coal Face Museum and explore the friendly main street.

In the afternoon, head back to Proserpine for afternoon tea and a tour of the coffee plantation,

followed by a spot of shopping in the main street.

Check in at Airlie Beach for the night.


Day FourWhitsundays itineraries, Cedar Creek Falls


Drive to Cedar Creek waterfall for a swim and picnic lunch, then head back to Airlie Beach for an afternoon of relaxation of by the Lagoon.

Take a sunset cruise then hit the town for a night with dinner and dancing til late.


Day Five


Even if you’ve been before, be sure to get out on the water amongst the islands and remember why you loved it the first time – beautiful islands jutting out of the water, colourful fringing coral reefs, secluded beaches, and of course world famous Whitehaven Beach. Choose from a range of

cruises, or do something different like a jetski or kayaking tour to see the islands from a different perspective.


Day Six


Time to head home – or if you’re lucky enough to have longer then discover the seclusion and

tranquillity of Dingo Beach and Hydeaway Bay, go on an extended multi-night sailing trip, hire your

own boat and skipper yourself on a sailing adventure or go camping on a deserted island.
