Our Western Australia wildflower tours are truly an unique flora experience. Walk among the wildflowers and be exposed to the fragrances and sounds of the native bush land. The rugged landscape comes alive with a blaze of brilliant colours and lush scents. We visit a farm that has wildflowers growing naturally.

 

This is your tour leader and driver Sylvia's favourite Wildflower tour because it shows visitors a hot spot for Western Australia's wildflowers in varying terrain, fantastic diversity of wildflowers and orchids and a chance to meet local people who passionate about their rural business and the region they live. We start our unique Western Australian Wildflower Tour experience travelling north of Perth first stopping at a favourite wildflower site for morning tea and then continuing on to a farm that has over 250 named varieties of flora growing naturally. The property is 2000ha and we take you on a breathtaking journey through Kwongon Heathland with the best wildflower blooms and native Flora and Fauna that Western Australia has to offer. Not only will you see stunning wildflowers but the property also has many native birds, Kangaroos and the occasional Emu.

 

We get off the beaten track and onto a series of 4wd tracks with your experience tour leader / driver and meander through the stunning wildflowers and bush land. The wildflower trails also offers a spectacular panoramic view of the historic Yalallie Meteorite Crate, discovered as recently as 1990 You will experience the wonders of nature walking among the wildflowers and in the bushland, hear the sounds of the bush, birds, and smell the fragrances of the native bush.

 

Enjoy an Aussie picnic lunch surrounded by shady trees (weather dependant). This tour is a great day out for people who love the wide open spaces, wildflowers, bush, birds, and kangaroos and may be spot an emu.

Western Australia possesses twelve major botanic regions, on your Western Australia Two Day Wildflower Tour we take you to explore two regions that are regarded as the major hotspots of flora species within Western Australia. Along with the diversity of flora is diversity of fauna which together make for unique interaction of bio diversity ecosystems

 

This tour not only high lights flora hotspots but areas that have remnant heath land, woodland of varying descriptions. The added bonus is you will meet people who are the custodians of such unique places or have set apart areas to specialise in unique species to protect and to share their love of Western Australia’s Natural Heritage.

 

Sylvia who will be your tour leader/driver guide has tailored this tour to see the flowers in the regions at their optimum.

 

Day One

Today on your Western Australian Two Day Wildflower Tour we are touring directly to the Wildflowers with displays of bio diversity of species before a stop for morning tea to revive ourselves after an early start. Initially we will be touring through the Midland Wheatbelt region.

 

We visit a working farm that exports wildflowers at regular intervals during the year. Get off the beaten track and tour along a 4WD track for a breathtaking journey through the best wildflower blooms and native Flora and Fauna that Western Australia has to offer. Not only will you see stunning wildflowers but the property is teaming with native birds, Kangaroos and the occasional Emu.

 

Meet the owners of the 2000ha wildflower, sheep and tree farm. Experience the wonders of the Kwongon Heathlands. Walk among the wildflowers. Hear the sounds, smell the fragrances of the native bush. See panoramic views of the Yalallie Meteorite Crater discovered as recently as 1990.

 

We will take a break for a picnic lunch surrounded by shady gum trees. Later spend the afternoon exploring local sights and discovering wildflowers and orchids. We expect to see Banksia, Grevillea, Snake Bush and much more.

 

We head to our overnight accommodation at Cervantes.

 

Day Two

 

After an early breakfast today we visit Don and Joy Williams of Hi Vallee Farm at Badgingarra near Mount Lesueur and Eneabba They run wildflower tours on their very rich and diverse private national park for over 20 years. On their working sheep and grain property we visit pristine native vegetation with four declared rare and 38 priority plant species, wildflowers, birds and fauna.

 

Don and Joy have a Greening Australia award for saving this valuable heritage and recently won the W.A Wildflower Society award for their efforts in promoting wild flowers in the Lesueur area and Western Australia. “Hi –Vallee” with some of the most diverse and varied plant species in the world has been described by Dr Stephen Hopper Director of Kew Gardens, as the most valuable native bushland in private ownership.

 

We will have a billy morning tea with damper and hit the track with Don to show you their amazing and unique remnant kwongan heathland. After lunch and many photos taken we visit major hotspot Lesueur National Park for another treat of flora.

 

Before we return to Perth we will visit the Pinnacles and have you back in Perth 5pm
