Nitmiluk holiday chalet accommodation, Northern Territory

Our Nitmiluk chalets are centrally positioned below the escarpment entrance just 600 metres to the departure point for boat cruises, canoes and several short circuit walks. These self-contained chalets are serviced daily and can either be a 1 or 2 bedroom.  The two bedroom chalets have a lounge and dining area, ensuite and kitchen and a generous balcony where wallabies and other wildlife can be observed wandering freely by.

The beautifully landscaped resort style swimming pool is the perfect place to unwind after a day’s exploring and offers a haven for visitors to cool off from the tropical sunshine or just take pleasure in a cool drink or snack poolside. The Poolside Bistro is open for dinner inthe dry season (May - October), and the Sugar Bags bistro overlooking the Katherine River is open for breakfast and lunch.

About Nitmiluk

Activities: Spectacularly beautiful and culturally significant, the Nitmiluk National Park is one of Australia’s most impressive travel and holiday destinations. Whether you’re with friends or family there is a range of activities you can all enjoy, from camping, walking, fishing, flying, touring and cruising, you’ll remember your time in Nitmiluk as a true Aussie outback adventure.

Visitor's Centre: The Nitmiluk Visitor Centre is located at the entrance to Nitmiluk Gorge and should be your first stop when visiting the national park. Friendly staff are on hand to assist with your tour and travel enquiries and NT Parks and Wildlife Rangers are also available to give advice on walking, camping and other activities.

Jawoyn National Park: This 292,008 hectare National Park is owned by the Jawoyn Aboriginal people and jointly managed with the Parks and Wildlife Commission of the Northern Territory. Some of the park’s features include spectacular dissected sandstone country, broad valleys and numerous, significant cultural sites. The deep Nitmiluk Gorge carved through ancient sandstone by the Katherine River is the central attraction of the area, and creates a wonderful ‘natural playground’ for many activities.

Sugarbar Cafe: With spectacular views over the Katherine River from the outdoor deck, the restaurant is a tasty destination in its own right. Open all day for breakfast and lunch, you can enjoy café style meals, Northern Territory specialties, snacks, coffee or refreshing drinks, while watching the cheeky Blue-faced Honeyeaters fool about around you.
