Air tours of Lake Eyre & William Creek

Don’t miss this opportunity to see Lake Eyre in all its glory. With more water still coming

down Cooper creek we could see the lake reach levels not seen since 1974.

Day 1. Depart Essendon & head north over the ranges & across the Mighty Murray to Broken

Hill, NSW.

Broken Hill is the only RFDS base in Australia where visitors can see a working RFDS Base in action. Visit the

Museum & take a guided tour of the operations, including the communications room & Hanger.

After refreshments we take off & off across the Strezleki Desert for our overnight stop at William Creek. Take

in the amazing scenery & see how the desert has come to life after recent rains. William Creek is one of

Australia’s smallest towns with a population of about 10. The William Creek Hotel is one of Australia’s Iconic

Outback Pubs dating back to 1887. Accommodation is available at the Hotel with Rooms at the Hotel or cabins

across the road.

Day 2. Depart William creek for scenic flight over Lake Eyre.

See the many different varieties of Birdlife; fly over Belt Bay (the lowest point in Australia, 15 meters below

sea level). The flight takes in both Lake Eyre North & South Landing at Marree for refreshments. Leaving

Marree we head south over the flinders ranges stopping at Mildura before heading on home to Essendon.
